The Revolution in Local Girls’ Schools.

Traditional skirts and blouses will make way for all-day active wear in 2027 after Australia’s most prestigious private girls’ schools signed a contract with Brandi to supply uniforms sporting school crests and colours.

“Our institutions prepare students for real life,” began a letter from the schools to current and prospective parents.

“Real life for women in Australia’s more desirable suburbs means wearing active wear everywhere.”

Brandi is a Bondi-based lifestyle brand creating apparel which is versatile, stylish, empowering and suitable for every occasion; including coffee dates, school drop off and ideation sessions.

“Brandi’s core values underpin this revolutionary advance in school attire and wholistic education,” continued the letter.

“Our young women will wear Brandi in all subject classes. Parents will also purchase custom-designed clothing for Design and Technology and Science lab classes, and outfits of the day will also be carefully curated for extra-curricular activities such as Debating, Orchestra, Model UN or volunteer experiences. Meanwhile, tailored pants and effortless blazers are ideal for presentation and award nights.”

Summer uniforms will include pieces such as dance pants, bike shorts and training tees, while winter options include quilted vests, ankle-biter thermals, polar fleeces and puffer jackets. Students will also be issued with dummy phones to place in the phone pocket of their leggings, and year 12 students will wear distinctive clothing with space for letters.

“Brandi apparel will be worn at all times except during PE lessons and Saturday sport,” parents were duly informed.

Girls as young as five will be free to pair compulsory uniform items with an attractive selection of performance-ready pieces on display at the uniform shop, which will become an immersive experience featuring special access to social media and fashion-forward influencers. The paradigm shift in school attire coincides with the introduction of a new subject in 2027 called Introduction to Influencing.

School leaders explained that Brandi won the contract on the basis that they could also provide a vast range of school-branded items such as bags, socks, sports bags, beanies, tote bags, caps, water bottles, swimwear, hair bands, instrumental cases…

Boarders, meanwhile, can purchase school sleepwear, while the company has also designed apparel and heritage polos in the colours of boys’ private schools in case a girl’s boyfriend makes the First XV.

Students rushed to social media in response to the news.

“It’s literally a game changer. Finally, I can concentrate in class.”

“This uniform will allow me to unlock the best version of myself and to feel empowered and inspired to be the catalyst for personal and global change.”

Parents welcomed the transition to more comfortable, sports-inspired clothing – with a caveat:

“As long as our girls don’t look like public school kids”
