Get Ready for the Event of the Century.

Waverley Council is promising seven days and nights of wonderful festivities when it unveils the revitalised Bondi Junction at some point in the future.

Residents will be amazed at the world-class cultural, civic and commercial town centre, a rejuvenated mall and plaza, plus new dining, shopping and entertainment options, as well as the use of terms like people-focused, intuitive, seamless and lively, to describe Bondi Junction.

During the weeklong festivities, petrol heads can drool over the Formula 1 teams testing their vehicles at the Oscar Piastri Aerodynamics Wind Tunnel, while thrill seekers can marvel at the adrenaline junkies in the Red Bull Wingsuit Slalom Championship flying between the new high-rise complexes and finishing under the Westfield walkway above Oxford Street.

Sign up now for the toughest ever season of Alone Australia. You could win $100,000 (or 1-hour free parking) if you survive the most consecutive days in Bondi Junction during a wet, windy winter. Bondi Jungle was also set to host a series of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, before producers learned that everyone in the Eastern Suburbs is a celebrity, and that everyone at the Junction is just trying to get out.

New and established eateries will tempt us all to stay and play with enticing signature dishes, while Easts will give a free drink to anyone who can pronounce Nawaqanitawase. Patrons at the new rooftop bars, meanwhile, can gaze west to see the sun set over our glorious harbour, and gaze down to watch cops chase teens on e-bikes. Order another drink and watch the drunken street fights outside The Mill, Tea Gardens, The Nelson and the new entertainment venues.

Children are also catered for. Youngsters can play Chase the Sun between the high-rise buildings, before swinging by council offices for free Vitamin D tablets, while local HSC students can assess the merits of the new library facility as a place to flirt under the guise of studying.

Even more important than local children are local dogs, and they will be given free reign to dominate new parks, public spaces and cafes, alongside the 6000 new dogs occupying the 3000 new homes to be added to the precinct.

The network of urban parks and plazas, plus walking and bike trails connecting Centennial Park to the Junction will also open during this week, so council has thoughtfully provided snowflakes with soap boxes and microphones from which to launch uncensored diatribes at cyclists, Teals, sustainability advocates and everything woke.

Waverley Council is adamant these seven magnificent days of bread and games will erase the memories of years of construction disruption for residents, workers, business owners and sunburnt tourists.
