Drunken Dylan Napa Desperate to Don Frownlow Medal.

Sydney Roosters NRL player Dylan Napa is so desperate to win the 2016 Frownlow Medal he allegedly got himself kicked off a London bound flight for being too drunk.

The front rower was attempting to channel Aussie sporting legends David Boon and Grant Hackett, but was removed from the flight in Dubai before he could create an on board controversy worthy of winning the Frownlow Medal, which will be announced in a matter of days.

The Frownlow Medal is awarded to the player whose off-field demeanour epitomises the values of the modern day footballer and draws attention to the status of footballers as role models to young Australians. It covers Australia’s four major football codes; the National Rugby League (NRL), Australian Football League (AFL), the A-League (Football) and Rugby Union’s Super Rugby competition. The first medal was awarded to Sydney Roosters and New Zealand representative Shaun Kenny-Dowall in 2015.

The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame honours former players and players who received media attention in previous seasons, for similarly scandalous behaviour, and its inductees include Ben Cousins and Todd Carney.

“It’s not fair!”, claimed Napa.

“When Boonie broke the record there was no RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) laws, and Hackett was on a flight without a stopover, so he couldn’t get kicked off. I reckon I would of broken Boonie’s record if they gave me a chance and then I could of won the Frownlow.”

In Napa’s favour is the fact that he was one of the young Queensland players dropped from the representative squad for breaking curfew at the emerging Origin camp earlier this year.

Th questions remains through; has he done enough to defeat the 60 other footballers who have so far been nominated for the 2016 Frownlow Medal?
