Travis Cloke the Latest Frownlow Medal Nominee to Fall into Social Media Trap.

Collingwood AFL player Travis Cloke sent nude images and videos of himself to a woman, and didn’t think there would be any consequences.

One of the pictures apparently showed Cloke performing a sex act, and the woman who received the images was not his partner. The images made their way to various media outlets and Cloke made his way on to the list of nominees for the 2016 Frownlow Medal.

Cloke joins team mate Dane Swan as a contender for the prestigious award, as Swan also sent nude images of himself to a woman, and they were also leaked to the media.

The Frownlow Medal is awarded to the player whose off-field demeanour epitomises the values of the modern day footballer and draws attention to the status of footballers as role models to young Australians. It covers Australia’s four major football codes; the National Rugby League (NRL), Australian Football League (AFL), the A-League (Football) and Rugby Union’s Super Rugby competition. The first medal was awarded to Sydney Roosters and New Zealand representative Shaun Kenny-Dowall in 2015.

The Frownlow Medal Hall of Fame honours former players and players who received media attention in previous seasons, for similarly scandalous behaviour, and its inductees include Ben Cousins and Todd Carney.

Both players look likely to feature in the glamorous Frownlow Medal awards ceremony in October this year, as well as the mass Frownlow nominees nudie run, currently being planned by artist Spencer Tunick.
