The Australian Rugby Union team has been praised for its charitable behaviour towards youth during the final of the Rugby World Cup.
The Wallabies took pity on the All Blacks and allowed them to take home winner’s medals from Twickenham.
“We’ve always seen New Zealanders as our little brothers” said David Pocock, whose generosity at the breakdown allowed the Kiwis to secure possession and claim a 34 – 17 victory.
“We saw the way the South Africans treated them so roughly in the semi-final, throwing them to the ground and jumping on them, and we felt sorry for them” explained fellow Wallabies poacher Michael Hooper.
“It was a unanimous decision from the boys that we’d take it easy on them in the final.”
In return for their act of kindness, the Australian team members were all awarded medals by the IRB at the conclusion of the final.
